Masseria Altemura

It is true to say that the etymology of the place-name Salento conjures up forceful images like those of the sun, salt and soil, the Masseria Altemura project has succeeded in highlighting these elements, summoning up the essence of this area so as to express its natural qualities to the fullest. The estate, which has belonged to the Zonin family since 2000, lies in the heart of the Salento Peninsula, halfway between the Seas that lap against Puglia’s shores, the Ionian and the Adriatic, and covers around 300 hectares, of which 150 are planted with vines. This favourable geographical position, characterized by pleasant sea breezes and very intense sunlight, is yet another positive condition for the cultivation of vines.
